Dr. Kay Flakes has been writing since an early age. She co-
wrote and produced her first play while a senior in high
school. For her first production, she incorporated the
assistance of her neighbors and friends who were eager to
participate in the play. The presentation was so successful
that she and her partner were asked to perform the play a
second time, to a larger audience!
She began writing and publishing her own books in
September of 2002. As her success grew, she started this
business to give opportunity to young writers such as herself,
the opportunity to publish their works.
Dr. Kay's current Church Activities but not limited to:
Motivational Speaker, Teacher, Youth and Young Adult
Sponsor (Choir Director, Praise Dance Instructor, Activities
Coordinator), Workshop Coordinator for Women’s retreats as
well as Youth and Young Adult retreats, Member of the Texas
Mass Choir, Volunteer Bible instructor at the Le Blanc Unit,
Music Workshop instructor and coordinator, Instructor for
Triumph Bible Institute, Member of New Perspective
Ministries (a Gospel Music ministry).
She has been married to husband, Minister Garland K.Z.
Flakes for over twenty years. They have four of their own
children and one adopted child.
Her philosophy—Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto Him who is able to
do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond all that I can
think or ask, according to the power that works in me.”
Her goal--"Live so that other can see Christ in me"
One of her favorite Scriptures-- Except the Lord build the
house, they labor in vain that build it (Psalm 127:1)
